Club Objectives

The Samui Expats Club was successfully launched in July of 2005 at the premier social event and meeting held at Seascape Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui. The club was originally suggested by a group of residents seeking ways to discover island information and resources and finding others to share fun, information and resources. Club Objectives were first identified by Linda Cartlidge, founder of the Samui Expats Club and current President.

Input and suggestions from many islanders helped finalise the most important of the objectives. Over 70 people representing 16 countries (including a significant Thai representation) enthusiastically attended the first monthly meetings and were helpful in sharing their needs. The most popular and critical expat needs were then fashioned into Samui Expats Club Objectives.

The two most important goals include the monthly social evening ‘ Expats Party’ that draws 6080+ attendees and is recognised as the most popular monthly event on the island. Secondly, we operate a ‘Children’s Charitable Fund’ that has donated well over 100,000 baht for children’s projects in need; and donated hundreds of volunteer hours on behalf of educational programs for children on Samui. The Club president has established ongoing partnerships with other nonprofit organisations and island businesses and designed fundraisers. Club volunteers have donated hundreds of hours to help with worthy ‘kid’s programs’. The Expats

Another goal was the affiliation with a Thailandbased sister expats club to enjoy member exchange benefits and privileges. This is with the Pattaya Expats Club (500+ members) andthe mutually beneficial ‘Benefits & Privileges Exchange Program’. The further goal of national member privileges and benefits is realised with SEC membership and accreditation from the national Association of Thailand Expats Club (ATEC).

• Provide professional support and assistance to our Expat members
  
• Provide Sponsorship Opportunities through the Club
  
• Support charitable causes
  
• Support the ‘Children’s Charitable Fund’ and partner for optimum benefit
  
• Encourage Members to participate and share advice and recommendations
  
• Offer attractive discounts at Sponsor’s and Members establishments and businesses
• Offer promotions and resources to members
  
• Offer priority opportunities to our sponsors
  
• Stage monthly Expat Party at venues with serene ambience offering fine dining
  
• Offer special professional support to meet expat needs
  
• Offer national association benefits and Pattaya Expat Club exchange privileges
  
• Focus on mission to provide quality support and assistance to the Expat Community
